2014 Petite Sirah
not yet released
Petite sirah is not remotely petite! There's nothing small about it, except the berry size. With small, very thick-skinned berries, we get a lot of the structure from the extra skin, and not much juice or flesh to thin it out. That makes for an incredibly deep, dark, dense wine. With Tannin for days, anthocyanins to make your dentist cringe (that's the color pigment), and a gripping acidity, this is one serious wine. Think notes of licorice, vanilla, smoked meats and black olives. This wine will cellar for 15 years, but if you're going to drink it young, give it a little time in your glass or bottle to open up and show you it's stuff. No secret sneaking this wine, your lips and teeth will give it a way!
